Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Joinery Estimation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2–6 years of UAE joinery estimation experience with a strong understanding of local market pricing, suppliers, materials, and manufacturing processes. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for a wide range of joinery works, ensuring competitive and commercially viable project pricing.

Key Responsibilities

Review architectural drawings, specifications, tender documents, and project requirements to understand the scope of work.
Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including detailed breakdowns of materials, manpower, hardware, production, installation, subcontracting, and other associated costs.
Analyze joinery packages and provide accurate costing based on project specifications, drawings, construction methods, and manufacturing requirements.
Coordinate with procurement, production, design, and project teams to obtain technical and commercial inputs for pricing.
Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate them to ensure cost competitiveness.
Maintain and regularly update cost databases, supplier pricing, material rates, and historical project cost records.
Review tender documents to identify technical and commercial risks, exclusions, assumptions, and cost implications.
Ensure all estimates are completed within project deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Support value engineering initiatives by proposing cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality or project requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
2–6 years of experience in Joinery Cost Estimation within the UAE.
Experience with a reputable joinery, interior fit-out, or woodworking company is essential.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of joinery estimation principles and detailed cost breakdowns.
Experience estimating a broad range of joinery works, including but not limited to:
Wooden doors
Wardrobes
Kitchen cabinets
Vanity units
Wall cladding
Reception counters
Decorative woodwork
Loose and fixed furniture
Other bespoke joinery items
Excellent knowledge of UAE market pricing, suppliers, hardware, timber, veneers, laminates, finishes, and other joinery materials.
Ability to interpret architectural, shop, and production drawings accurately.
Proficiency in quantity take-offs and BOQ preparation.
Strong analytical, numerical, and commercial skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP or estimation software is an advantage.

Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently as well as within a team.
