We are seeking an experienced Logistics Engineer with a strong background in main contracting construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all site logistics activities to ensure the smooth movement of materials, equipment, manpower, and machinery throughout the project lifecycle. The candidate should possess excellent knowledge of construction site logistics, temporary works planning, access management, traffic flow, and coordination with project stakeholders while ensuring compliance with safety and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive site logistics plans for construction projects.
Coordinate the movement and delivery of construction materials, equipment, machinery, and manpower to ensure uninterrupted site operations.
Plan and manage site access, traffic management, laydown areas, storage yards, loading/unloading zones, and temporary facilities.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, Plant, and Subcontractors to ensure timely material availability.
Monitor logistics activities to optimize workflow, minimize delays, and improve operational efficiency.
Coordinate tower crane operations, hoists, lifting plans, and material handling activities where applicable.
Prepare logistics schedules aligned with the overall construction program.
Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and local authority regulations related to site logistics and transportation.
Coordinate with suppliers and transport companies regarding delivery schedules and site access requirements.
Monitor material movements, storage conditions, and inventory within the project site.
Identify logistics constraints and develop practical solutions to avoid project delays.
Support project planning by forecasting logistics requirements for each construction phase.
Attend coordination meetings with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
Prepare logistics reports, progress updates, and KPI reports for project management.
Ensure proper housekeeping, site organization, and efficient utilization of available site space.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5–10 years of experience as a Logistics Engineer within a main contracting construction company.
Proven experience working on high-rise buildings, commercial, residential, mixed-use developments, hospitals, hotels, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
Excellent knowledge of:
Site logistics planning
Construction material flow
Temporary works and site setup
Traffic management plans
Tower cranes, hoists, and lifting operations
Site access and delivery coordination
Construction equipment planning
Storage and laydown area management
Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities.
Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced construction environments.
Technical Skills
Primavera P6 (Preferred)
AutoCAD
Microsoft Project (Preferred)
Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
Microsoft Office Suite
ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar – Preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
UAE/GCC experience with reputable main contractors.
Familiarity with Dubai Municipality, RTA, Civil Defense, and other relevant authority requirements related to construction logistics.
Knowledge of lean construction practices and logistics optimization.
HSE awareness with a strong understanding of safe material handling and site logistics operations.
