Architect - Main Contractor (High-Rise Projects)

The Technical Office Architect is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and supporting the production of architectural shop drawings, technical details, RFIs, material-related coordination, and site technical clarifications under the supervision of the Senior Architect / Lead Architect.

The role supports the architectural technical delivery process by reviewing IFC drawings, identifying coordination issues, preparing technically compliant drawings, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring that architectural documentation is aligned with project specifications, approved materials, consultant comments, and site requirements.

BIM
• Develop and maintain the architectural Revit model based on IFC drawings, approved shop drawings, consultant comments, RFI/CVI responses, site instructions, and agreed coordination resolutions.
• Produce coordinated architectural sheets from the Revit model, including plans, sections, elevations, enlarged details, schedules, and construction details.
• Ensure BIM-generated drawings are technically correct, properly annotated, coordinated with other disciplines, and ready for internal review before submission.
• Update the Revit model and related sheets to reflect approved design changes, clash resolutions, material approvals, mock-ups, and site requirements.
• Review architectural coordination issues identified through BIM/federated model reviews and implement required updates in the architectural model.
• Support clash resolution with structural, MEP, façade, ID, and specialist subcontractor models by preparing 3D views, sections, snapshots, and revised model information.
• Coordinate with BIM Modelers, BIM Coordinator, Senior Architect, and Lead Architect to ensure model updates and sheet production are completed accurately and within the required submission timeline.
• Check model elements for correct location, dimensions, levels, categories, visibility settings, and readiness for shop drawing extraction.
• Support the preparation of coordinated model-based shop drawing packages, including blockwork, reflected ceiling, flooring, wall finishes, wet areas, façade interfaces, and specialist interface drawings.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings when required to understand coordination comments, clarify architectural issues, and implement approved actions in the model and drawings.
• Maintain consistency between the architectural Revit model, issued shop drawings, coordination comments, and site execution information.
Engineering

FC Drawing Review & Technical Coordination
• Review IFC drawings, specifications, schedules, and relevant contract documents to understand project requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, missing information, conflicts, and unclear details in architectural drawings.
• Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, façade, ID, landscape, and specialist subcontractor information.
• Raise technical concerns to the Senior Architect / Lead Architect for review and escalation when required.
• Support interdisciplinary coordination to reduce site conflicts and rework.
• Ensure architectural deliverables are aligned with the latest approved design information and project revisions.
RFIs, CVIs & Technical Queries
• Assist in preparing RFIs, CVIs, and technical queries related to architectural discrepancies, missing details, coordination issues, and site conditions.
• Prepare supporting sketches, markups, extracts, and technical references for RFIs and CVIs.
• Follow up on responses and update drawings accordingly after review by the Senior Architect / Lead Architect.
• Maintain proper tracking of submitted RFIs, received responses, and required drawing updates.
• Ensure technical queries are clear, properly referenced, and aligned with project documentation.
Materials, Finishes & Submittal Coordination
• Support the review and coordination of architectural material submittals with drawings and specifications.
• Check that shop drawings reflect approved or proposed materials, finishes, dimensions, fixing methods, and installation requirements.
• Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and subcontractors for technical information when assigned.
• Assist in reviewing samples, mock-up requirements, material data sheets, and compliance documents.
• Highlight any mismatch between drawings, specifications, BOQ, material submittals, or site requirements.
Subcontractor & Supplier Coordination
• Review subcontractor shop drawings and technical documents under the supervision of the Senior Architect / Lead Architect.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to clarify architectural requirements, drawing comments, and technical interfaces.
• Ensure subcontractor drawings are coordinated with the architectural package and other disciplines.
• Follow up with subcontractors on drawing revisions, missing information, and consultant comments.
• Support the Lead Architect / Senior Architect in reviewing specialist architectural packages such as façade, joinery, doors, ceilings, metal works, waterproofing interfaces, and finishes.
Site Technical Support
• Provide technical support to site engineers regarding architectural drawings, details, finishes, and interface issues.
• Visit site when required to verify conditions, clarify details, and support technical coordination.
• Assist in resolving site observations, consultant comments, NCR-related clarifications, and execution constraints.
• Ensure site teams are working based on the latest approved drawings and relevant technical information.
• Prepare sketches or marked-up drawings to clarify architectural execution details when required.
• Coordinate site feedback with the Senior Architect / Lead Architect for formal action.
QA/QC & Compliance Support
• Ensure architectural drawings comply with project specifications, approved materials, authority requirements, and consultant comments.
• Support QA/QC teams by providing technical clarification for architectural inspections and documentation.
• Assist in reviewing mock-ups and sample installations from a technical drawing perspective.
• Highlight recurring technical issues, drawing discrepancies, or quality risks to the Senior Architect / Lead Architect.
• Ensure technical deliverables are properly checked before internal review and submission.
Document Control & CDE Compliance
• Prepare and submit architectural documents through the approved project CDE platform such as Asite, Aconex, ACC, or equivalent, as per project workflow.
• Follow project naming conventions, revision control, transmittal procedures, and submission requirements.
• Maintain organized drawing records, markups, consultant comments, and revision history.
• Ensure superseded drawings are properly identified and not used for current coordination or site execution.
• Support the team in updating drawing registers, submission logs, and technical trackers.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from a recognized university with Minimum 4–8 years of experience in architectural technical office work.
• UAE project experience with main contractors.
• Experience in high-rise, commercial, hospitality, residential, mixed-use, or large-scale building projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of architectural shop drawing preparation and coordination.
• Good understanding of IFC drawings, specs, BOQs, schedules, and contract documents.
• Ability to prepare coordinated architectural drawings and technical details.
• Good knowledge of architectural finishes, blockwork, ceilings, flooring, wet areas, doors, façade interfaces, and construction detailing.
• Ability to identify drawing discrepancies and coordination issues.
• Good command of:
 AutoCAD
 Autodesk Revit
 Navisworks review basics
 MS Office
 PDF markup tools
 CDE platforms such as Asite, Aconex, ACC, or equivalent
• Basic to good understanding of UAE authority requirements, accessibility requirements, fire life safety coordination, and local construction practices.
• Ability to coordinate with structural, MEP, façade, ID, landscape, and specialist subcontractor packages.
• Understanding of material submittals, mock-ups, method statements, and QA/QC documentation.
